IUP hold
Well I just got "THE CALL" from my dealer. I ordered my V6 Oct.19, today I found out that I am a victim of the IUP material hold
. Dealer told me that the hold is dated until Dec. and that it is due to the LED's in the MYCOLOR option. Also said that if I decided to remove the IUP I could have the card in 6-8 weeks. I really want this car ASAP but I think I'll wait. I mean why buy something your not gonna be 100% happy with??? But it will drive me crazy to see them driving around !!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!????

Having a vin # means your order has been serialized and submitted to the plant. The next step, barring any holds, you will receive a build date.

I dunno about a "hold" but the dealer I was at last night said that Ford is telling them not to order with IUP if possible because they can't fill the demand for it. They told me if I ordered right now it would take much less time to get it without IUP than with it.

so a vin does not signify it has started being built?
