no v6s are being produced with IUP. GTs are. so depending on what you ordered/wanted to order, he either lied or didnt.

Yeah that's pretty much the gist of it. No more V6 Stangs will be produced with the IUP until Ford lifts the hold.

Probably depends on part availability issues, which most folks believe comes down to the MyColor feature.

Ford and Delphi will fix this shortage as fast as possible, 'cause if you wanna buy it, they wanna sell it. I think December is more likely. We're not talking engineering issues, just being able to make parts fast enough.

if the IUP issue is resolved in december, do yall think we will immediately begin to see V6 manuals with IUP, or will ford build the V6 Autos with IUP first?

alright well i am ordering a v6 (today as a matter of fact) so my question is, i am not expecting to get my car any sooner than december anyway...as long as i get it before my birthday (december 27th) so would this work for me, if the IUP did become avalible on the V6s by december? would they start my car and just add IUp when its avalible or would they not start building it until IUP become avalible agian, meaning i probably would not recive my car until around jan or feb.? please help, i'm ordering today and am trying to decide if i should order IUp or not...

Just order it you can change it either way until it is finalized. Just upgrade to the GT instead.

I think Ford will balance the purchasing trends they will be seeing by then with the product mix they need to put on the lots to keep an eye on their CAFE.

No, they certainly would not schedule your car to be built before all the parts are expected to be available. You should expect your car to be on hold until the V6 IUP hold is removed. Hard to say how long it would take to get your car built at that point, but it wouldn't be at all surprising if it took another 6-8 weeks.

Dealer called me this morning. he said all GT's with IUP option are on tempoary hold. He told me if i drop the option, the car will be built next week. I told him I want the option and will wait for it. After speaking to him, I called Ford customer service. The lady was very nice. She took my vin # and confirmed it was valid. She also confirmed the vehicle was on tempoary hold but did not know the reason. She asked me to call back in 2 or 3 weeks for an update. My order was placed and received by Ford on Oct. 6 with a priority code of 10. It's a GT premium red fire with IUP, Anti-theft & wheel locks.

I ordered my 05 Mustang GT last week (10/20) with the IUP as one of the options.
The dealer entered the order in the computer the next day and told me no problems came up in regard to holds or delays.

If some type of problem comes up (like the parts shortage with the IUP) will the computer reject the order or place a hold on the order until the parts arrive?

On the day I placed my order the dealer told me if I got the order in that day I would have the car in 6 weeks (this is per the inventory manager at the dealership).

I placed the order over the phone and I'm waiting for the VIN to be generated by Ford and a build date.
Once I have the VIN I'll go in and give them my deposit and pick up the paperwork on the order (DORA and a signed agreement that they will sell me the car at X-Plan)

They told me all went well with the order and still told me not to expect my car till February I dont know if he is telling me this so if and when it comes in early i will just go into utter shock or what.....but i read all these posts and i start to think maybe it wont be until February.....(closes eyes and hopes).

Normally they would just put it on hold.
