So if I ask my salesperson how many they have been allocated and if my order falls into to their allotted # they are required to tell me? Because they gave me a print out that heads "vechcle order confirmation " with an order # of 1111 and a priority 10.

I think you want to see the Mustang 'Commodities List'. That list shows the probability that certain configurations will be built in percent.

Alright, now I know my vehicle is showing sub to plant, the IUP hold got lifted off it. Just seen it on the dealer's computer screen. Anyone know about how long it takes for a build date?

Yeah but I had a priority 10 and was supposed to be the first GT on the list with allocations available. I believe your timeframe was when they were having the delays due to the IUP also.

Thanks for info. I think I'll request this from my dealer tonight. I think there might be something fishy going on considering I ordered 10/7 with a priority of 10 and I don't even have a VIN yet.
Thats not fishy considering how many cars are now ordered ahead of yours. 10/7 is pretty late to the game. There were tens of thousands of orders before october. [/QUOTE]

According to another poster if I am a priority 10 (with no other 10's in front of me) and the dealership does have allocation available, my order should be getting pulled.

Also, on the "Where is your Mustang" thread I see many people who ordered after me already have their VINs.

Mine was ordered on 10/6. I have a vin# and a build date of 11/20. A loaded redfire GT.

well...is ford pulling other orders from your dealer? If sothen there are obviously higher priority orders than yours. If not than they obviously don't have an allocation at the moment.

And you can't really compare other people's orders to yours cause they could have ordered from a dealer with better allocations etc.

That's whats making me suspect that something is fishy. They claim they have allocations available and that I am the highest priority but that they are competing with all other dealers nationwide and can't tell me when mine will actually get pulled.

You only "compete" with other dealers for allocation. Our region will have x amount of cars to give to the dealers in our area. Of course, we want them all, but once the region assigns them, they are your dealers to sell. This wholesale allocation is done every 4 to 8 weeks. They don't compete with other dealers once the allocation is assigned, Ford has already agreed to schedule a certain number of units on certain dates for your dealer. We can tell you 6 weeks out how many units we have to sell each week.

It definitely sounds like he is getting a run around from the dealer. I ordered my GT around the 15th of October, and had a VIN within 7 calendar days. No VIN after that long smells like lack of allocations to me....
