All I know is that mine is a V6 preminum & I ordered IUP also. My status is clean, unscheduled. Does that mean that my stang will not have the IUP? Because I can tell you that if that is the case than Ford & I WILL have words. And I may end up going with the Exterra that I orginialy wanted instead of their Mustang.

If it gets placed on Temp Hold for the IUP it will not be built.

Hmmmm....Guess they thought the general public wouldn't go for the IUP. When I was considering my options I was not going to go with the IUP, but the pictures of it just made it more appealing. Factor the price into the big picture and it didn't increase my payments that much. I wonder if this change in FORD's strategy will get the GT's built and out to us quicker.

This is true. 2mustangjohn (he works at AAI for those of you that dont know) mentioned that they were "holding" v6s with IUP about a week ago.

If it's true and it is due to bad planning (and not subcontractor issues), someone at Ford will get canned I bet.

No offence, but big deal. You not buying one car won't hurt them at all. Plus the scheduling spot will be picked up by someone else and they'll buy the car.

Not that I believe most anything that comes out of a car salesmans mouth... I just nodded and smiled.

But I will say this:
No IUP No Mustang for me in 2005MY . The non IUP interior looks like crap, and I am not in the market for a GT. I can wait till 06, and be none the worse for it.

I am so glad I ordered a GT. I feel the pain of the people who have ordered a V6 with IUP, but if the info on this thread is true, it could mean that I will get my GT quicker...wooooooottttttt

i dont care if it's a drawn out delay for the V6's, but i do want it this model year. It's a little hard for me to believe that it will just flat out not be available on any V6, otherwise the order guide and all of the other brochures would be misinforming the customer. Hopefully ford can correct this problem. My explorer isnt going to last much longer.

No but what will hurt them is if I tell everyone exactly how crappy and lemony my 2003 Stang turned out to be.

13500 miles And in the past year I have had to have the following done:

6 rear main seals
Hood repainted (and it's chipped again as I type this)
4 Weather stripping Seals (& Still leaks water inside)
New Crankshaft/Crankshaft Bearings/Hoses etc...
2 Thermostats in 2 weeks

And I am pretty sure that the problems aren't over.

Besides the fact that I am only 22 so they could loose ALL future sales. Not to mention that my Grandfather, mother, uncle, cousin, & brother drive NOTHING but Fords. So that could possibly drive their business away.

So in the end it could become a big deal.

Kera, since your profile says you're looking for an Auto and 17" rims too, the IUP will probably be back in the V6s by then...

cdemot02: or anyone in the know...?

1. will the Iup not be offered for all of 05 in the V6?
2. will the Iup be offered for the V6 in 06?

note to self: keep beater fox body running till 06,or get a second job to raise the extra cash for a GT.

So if the IUP option really won't be offered at all on V6 models for the rest of the 05MY production it seems as though those V6's that did sneak through early on would be fairly rare then. Pretty cool for those that got one....at least a novelty until 2006.
