WOO HOO! I just got word that my own 'Stang (Redfire GT) was finished at the factory on 29 Sep.

I mean, I know it exists, so that is one big hurdle, now it's just a matter of time. It still has to board a ship for Europe, but first it has to get to Baltimore.

Anyone have experience how long, now that production is scaled up, a car takes to go from the factory floor to the East Coast? Does Ford wait for the parking lot to fill and then send a train? Or whatever trucks show up get specific allocations?

Waiting with baited pedal foot....

Who knows, it might take till January for your stang to reach Germany. Did you buy it from an East Coast dealer to ship over there?

It appears if anyone knows they are not talking. The only committment Ford has officially made is that they will be in dealers by the end of October.

Just talked to my dealer in Nashville, and he said they don't expect any Mustangs in until the middle of November.

OT: I want to order, but cannot decide between Redfire and Mineral Grey

Dustin,

We have an Exchange new car sales, that handles GM, Ford, Chrysler, and Harley's.

Everything they send to the factory is a special order, not subject to the get 5/sell 5 they seem to be forcing the dealers into... but it seems from this forum that dealers have little to no input to the factory, other than putting in orders. I wanted to change to leather seats from cloth after I found it was a separate item that only cost $500. Couldn't be done, according to the car sales people.

It still seems like we have not determined whether there REALLY is a problem with a batch of the V8 heads or not, and whether that will affect shipping, but the rumor is old enough that I can hardly imagine they would go through the trouble of producing the car if they would have to pull the motor later. So if they have not released anything yet, are we just waiting on a bureaucracy that is slow??

They're prob waiting for the 04's to get off the lots. That would be my guess anyways.

Arrow

mine built on 9/27, no release date for my Mustang, its just sad, u wonder if sometimes Ford could have that tracking program like BMW, Mercedez and Cadillac have where all you do is type in your VIN number or any info the dealer gives you and you can track where and when your Mustang would arrive, my father did that for his BMW, he tracked it from the factory, to the ship, to the truck and to the dealer, it was great, maybe that should be Ford's new step in tracking technology.......

In case you haven't been looking at the stickies at the top of the forum, Boomer has reported that the OK-to-ship order was finally given on Friday.
