Question

Just noticed in some of the pictures that the 05 vert has a plastic rear window? Is this possible in this day and age? I certainly hope not. :notnice:

Don't worry about it. Thosr are all mules. By the time the vert goes into production the plastic will have been replaced by glass.

I want a vert. I was at ford to see if they got in an 05 coupe yet. They had an 04 40th aniver edition vert. The top was vinyl. I hope they are going to put a cloth top on the 05 Mustang, or at least offer one as an option. I know all upscale cars have cloth tops, but Chrysler even has them on the sebrings and PT cruisers.

VINYL TOPS YUC! This will cost Ford a lot of vert sales!

The tops will be vinyl on the V6 and GT just as they have always been (except recent Cobras) , and it hasn't cost Mustang any sales yet.

I've got nothing against vinyl tops, if they're good quality. I think they look fine, and they can be easier to maintain.

Man, I hope not. Plastic rear windows stink!!!! However, the only reason they would use one would be space related, and I doubt that will be an issue. Since the verts have come with a glass top for a while now, I can't see Ford using anything other than glass for the '05s.

The new vert is also going to fold in a "Z" pattern, rather than the current "E" pattern (or Sigma for you math people).

Canvas tops are an absolute nightmare to keep clean.

Yeah, that's like when you can see the outlines of the clasps of a bra on a girl's back.

OK, so it's not like that at all.

I have to agree there. Especially if you keep the car parked outside you will not stop it from developing white mildew lines. You don't have that with a vinyl top.

cool sketch, Brad.
By the way, the cloth top on my 2003 Cobra is awesome, way better than the vinyl top on my old Mustang GT. Here's hoping they offer the cloth top on the 07 Cobra!
