Intake Air Temp incorrect reading
Hello, I have a 2008 Mustang GT, 4.6 L. Two weeks ago while recording datalogs for my tune guy, he notified me that my IAT readings were incorrect starting in the third datalog. Everything was correct until then. In my datalogs my temps were going from -248 to 248 and everywhere in between.
I have troubleshot the wiring. I have replaced the MAF sensor and the MAF sensor connector. I reseated the ECU connectors. Now when I datalog my temps are normal ambient temps at idle in the driveway but down the road the temps go to 16, 32, 48, 128, back to 32, back to 48, back to 16, and on and on as I drive under different loads and RPMs.
I have 5V at the connector pins 1 and 2 for the IAT sensor. The wiring checks good all around for this sensor. 12V across the MAF sensor pins 5 and 6.
Everything seems to be good until I drive it and the readings go crazy.
Could this be the ECU (PCM)? What the hell is going on here?

Update: there is nothing wrong with the car. The temps read normally on another OBDC device so the issue is something is corrupt in the datalogging software. I have removed and reinstalled all software and drivers and I am going to try this again.
Strange problem.

glad you got it figured out; I couldn't think of anything that you hadn't already checked
