I'm getting new inner fender well (Pass. Front)
I noticed when washing my car that the passenger side inner fender well (front) doesn't fit well around the lip of the wheel opening.
Now this wasn't as big a deal to me as what I found when washing out the fender well.
Just inside the area above where the rocker moulding attaches, there is a spot a little larger than a .50 cent piece that is so thin you can put your finger right through it.
I'm serious.....I think a sheet of paper is thicker than this section of fender well trim. The body shop manager came out and looked at it, and also the parts/service manager......and they both determined it as defective, and are ordering me a new one. Obviously they have never had to tear one apart yet (and body shop mgr. verified this), so I told him that I am ultra picky and that if anything gets buggered, I will find and see it.......so, treat it with the greatest of care I told him. He said the fit and finish of these kinds of areas on any cars aren't perfect, but the 'THIN' spot on the inner well caused him concern as well. Some of you owners might want to check the passenger side inner well to verify that this was not a molding flaw that we all have. I doubt that it is.....but just wanted to give you all a heads up in case it is.

I'll see if I can take a pic tomorrow during the daylight....and if it shows okay, then I'll post it. I'm sure no photo is going to show the 'thinness' of this area, but it would purely for location sake. The fit/finish of the inner fender moulding should show though. The drivers side is flawless....and other '05 Stangs I have looked at are great on both fender wells, so I need this side addressed.

Overall, you're pretty lucky. It sounds like a minor defect and fortunately, it is just a bolt on part that can probably be installed in less than an hour.

Okay....here's the best pic I could get, and as I said, this would probably only show location.
This is the front passenger side, inner wheel-well moulding. The 'Thin' spot is located about 1/4" above the lower fastening button for the rocker moulding front. This 'Thin' spot is a little larger than a .50 cent piece, and I could have pressed my finger through it for clarity, but without verification that the fender trim will be in within 3 days (what they told me), I opted not. B) Besides the thin spot, the trim doesn't even fit the way it's supposed to against the wheel opening, and in no time I would have a bunch of gravel, sand, and whatever else blown back in behind my door area. The photo doesn't show it well at all, because I couldn't get the camera in there with the tire in my way. I checked 2 other '05's last night and the inner wheel-well trim was fine on both sides of these cars.....
