Ok, I'm 34 with an 06 Mustang GT on order. Whenever I tell people they say, "midlife crisis". I disagree. I just love the car and can afford it. So, why not. That's how I look at it. Has other Old farts gotton the same reaction. And what about you lady's? Is it a midlife crisis for you as well? Just want to hear other people reactions when you tell them.

I'm 34 as well and ordering a 2006 Mustang GT. The only other Mustang I owned was the used 1986 hatchback I had when I was in college. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about this one
My younger brother (jealous) is about the only one that has used the term "midlife crisis". Other than that, I have always driven the 4-6 bangers that look cool, but don't go. Now I'm in a position where I can afford to splurge a little with my wife going back to work full time. And I'm not being selfish either - the wife and kids roll in a 2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer.

I get the same reaction, I'm 55. Friends (and wife) say get a Porsche,BMW,MB-something exoctic....A MUSTANG!! and then the looks,like,...how pathetic!
My family owned a 1967 Acapulco Blue coupe; I used to baby her, my wire wheel covers were stolen while at work and then SHE was stolen from the parking lot while I was at work!...and she was only a six-cylinder. I told my wife- I just want a V8 GT and she said if it makes you happy GET IT! (my wife- she's a keeper!!)

I'm 41 with two boys ages 9 and 11....my first car at age 19 was a new 1983 pontiac Firebird S/E, then three V-8 mustangs in a row (87 LX, 92 GT, and my current 2002 GT - all sticks). I drive them every day, rain or shine, and even through our rough New England winters. My '06 GT vert which I'm going to order in December will be number four in a row. Just remember, you're only as old as you feel but 34 is hardly "mid-life". Last year I went to the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving for a 3 day course that was an absolute blast and worth every penny!. I just love fast cars and the Mustang does it for me. As for my wife (who drove a 5 speed Mazda RX-7 when I met her), she's had great cars herself and keeps telling me to buy a BMW 3 series vert Porsche Boxster, but I just really love the Mustang. One of my co-workers actually told me to divorce her so he could marry her!

I will tell you what, when you do have your midlife crisis, and get rid of it, I will take it off your hands for you!
And for the record, no, it isn't a midlife crisis. 1. you are 34, and 2. it's a Mustang not a Viper (and by this I am saying cost, not quality...because we all know I love Mustangs).

I'm 32 and I picked mine up yesterday! No crisis here. I work my butt off to take care of my family of 5. They keep telling me I deserve it. I can hardly believe this is real. This is the 1st brand spanking new car I've ever had. 1st muscle car. I feel like I'm 16 again. It's like learning to drive all over again. My last car, a 93 F150, rode like a boat. Bought it 8 years ago. The new stang is so fast and smooth. I love it!
Does that sound like a crisis?
I'm with you. We all earned it. Enjoy!

December? Be careful...I ordered my 05 in Nov of 04 and missed the boat. Don't wait too long!!!

I'm 35 here. I got my '05 GT when I was 34, and this is my third Stang. I sure hope I'm not at mid life, so I wouldn't consider it a mid-life crisis for me. I got mine because I love Mustangs, and I can afford one without breaking the bank. I'll save the 35-40K BMW 3 Series, and the like, for someone else; as great a car as it is. My wife likes the fact that I'm so passionate about my cars, so she doesn't care.

Mid-life crisis? I hope so; that means I get to live to about age 92.
I just point out to them that it is my fifth Mustang. And I point out it has simply taken this long to get one exactly the way I wanted it!![04](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/04.gif)
Build date 8/8!

Well it is indeed an amusing and insulting world when them "younguns" call 34 "midlife" !! What does that make someone over 50 ? An old geezer? A "has been"? This world doesn't belong to you young snots yet ! None of you have earned it yet !
