Just a quick post to those who have followed my recent adventures with dealers: I FINALLY ORDERED!

I went to A DIFFERENT dealer, was assured of allocation and got a reasonable deal on a LEGEND LIME 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM COUPE!

I'm now officially a resident of the Mustang Waiting Room... and I couldn't be happier! A big THANK YOU to all of you who helped me do the right thing. I found a dealer that was straightforward with me and treated me fairly. That's all I ever wanted...

Rock on, guys & gals!

PS - The Audi is officially on the auction block. Have someone seeing it this Sunday!

Heck, after the past few days, a four-month wait would seem like a walk in the park! I'm pumped now. Feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The dealer was very supportive and reassured me that I would be able to get my deposit back if I could not get an '05. They also guaranteed the same percentage over cost as my current deal on an '06 if I decide to go that route. I'm relieved that I have at least some degree of price protection. I got it in writing! They also said I should have the DORA in a couple of days. Life is good!

Gathering up all my Audi materials and compiling a list of things I want to take care of before showing her. With only 15K miles on the clock, the car is relatively clean so it's an easy task. I'm advertising it in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and they've got it online as well. Someone is coming to see it this Sunday...

I'm relatively patient, and I think I'll make a good "waiter," however I still wouldn't mind getting hold of that "Evil Robot Lady" that everyone talks about. Just to check on my progress, ya know?

Welcome to a somewhat exclusive club. No dues, but the meetings can get hecktic.

Hope you get your car as soon as possible (right after I get mine that is!).

Thanks guys! Feel like a noob all over again! You have no idea how nice it was changing my signature from "ORDERING" to "ORDERED!"

It's the simple things...

The worst part of the wait is when you know it's built, but you haven't got it yet. The two months before mine was built was a breeze compared to the last two weeks of wondering where it is. Good choices also. LL rocks IMO.

Congrats Chris......I guess that LL in your hand just didn't cut it eh? (I actually had a good laugh at that one, great pic)

Too bad about the Audi though and depending on weather, a life saver. My other ride (the family truckster) is a Volvo XC70 and with the winter we've just had, wouldn't be without it.

But....as the snow clears here I've been out on a couple "break-in" drives in the Stang. YOU WILL LOVE THIS CAR!!!!! Got onto the highway today, sort of punched it as I straightened out on the on-ramp - 80 to 170 (Km/h, calm down) happened SO QUICK that I honestly didn't see it coming (well..... I might have heard it but the short blast was as good as any music the Shaker puts out).

So enjoy the wait, more than worth it. And great color pic, Ford's ONLY '05 color that's exclusive to the Stang

Mark

Congrats Chris! I knew you would get it done. Can't wait to see it when it comes in. Have fun trying not to think about how long it's taking for your car to show up! Haha!

Thanks, Mark! Yeah, I felt a little goofy taking that pic of my die cast model in my hand, but it was fun. I only wish it were in focus.

Yeah, I think I will miss the Audi a little. The little car is a sweet ride. Tight and sticks to the road like glue. Phenomenal traction in the snow! However, I'm planning on moving to northern California later this year. Snow is unheard of, except for at higher elevations. I'll be living in "the valley." Still, this car has traction control. Unlike my '96 GT. So it's gotta be better in that respect.

I absolutely love your car. I've been referring TMS members to check it out since you started posting pix! Tastefully executed mods, I must say. You've given us all some really cool ideas...

Can't wait for my 'Stang to arrive, but I guess I must! It'll be worth it.

Chris

PS - LOVE CANADA!
