I think I found a HID Kit for High and Low Beams?

I stumbled across this on ebay, it is an H13 kit, with 4 ballasts per bulbs and supposedly is bi-xenon, what do you guys think? I am planning on doing a shelby front end conversion and I know the H13 bulb is used for both applications, so I thought about grabbing these now and seeing if I like them.

I recieved two responses about these HID lights from the guy selling them..

Fitz, the hid kits that my brother sells has a total of 4 ballast, the bulb it self has 2 filaments I have a set in my mustang as well as an 06 Lincoln mark lt they work without any issues, each side lo beams runs off a ballast then if you flick the switch the other ballast turns on and lights the hi side of the bulb. I can send you a video that I made holding the bulb if you would like to see it. Also look at the first picture on eBay click it to make it larger and you can see the 2 filaments lo/hi beams. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to order.
Mike

It's technically two xenon bulbs in one base. This is the reason for the four ballast. What happens is when you switch from low beam to high beam, it switches the power from the low-beam bulb to the high beam bulb. The wiring harness that comes with the kit has it's own relays and fuses setup for this.

I have a Lincoln Mark LT that I tested it on and the most I had to do was splice in a 9003/H4 socket adapter so that I could use the wiring harness that came with the kit. It's fairly easy install, in fact you'll spend more time trying to find a spot for the ballast than anything else.

If there are any other questions, feel free to ask.
They are sending me a video of the light and hopefully some pictures of it installed on a Mustang, and then I might order a set.

It was saleen for me... these sound scarey. I would wonder about the heat buildup in the factory bezzle over time.

HID's actually run cooler than standard halogens.

if you're going to do the shelby conversion, then there's no point in getting the Saleens, however trust me, I have done enough hack jobs and retrofits on headlights for HIDs to know that true plug and play, like the Saleens, are the way to go.

Without a proper cutoff, like the Saleens have or cars with projectors, you're just going to blind people and the light will scatter everywhere instead of being focussed to help you see better.

Although HIDs may "run cooler", they require a lot more power to fire up then halogens, so if you don't have a properly made set or something that's overloading your system, then you'll end up with neverending blown fuses or worse, fried wiring.

remember you get what you pay for, and also remember anything outside of 4000-4300K you are just giving up light output for looks/colour. please, stick with 6000K or less.

I was going to stick with 6000k, I also have a voltage stabilizer and grounding kit for this reason alone. To help my electrical system and my headlights.

I have had my HID's for a few months now and no issues. Yes the HID's require a ballast to fire up. The total draw on the circuit is 18.7 amps for both headlights. That drops down to 3.5 amps after they are lit. Be sure to get a kit with relays if you do this. I went with the 8K kit because I wanted the looks. Technically, the 6K kit has more light output, but my 8K kit is still just about three times brighter than standard halogens. Approx 2800 lumens for HID versus about 950 lumens for halogen. The higher the degree, the more blue-purple the light. I believe that Merceds uses a 5k lamp.

I have a McCulloch kit. It was pretty cheap and I will be honest, I had to return the first kit they sent me because it was not complete. I had no problems having them send me out a new kit though and the only issue I had was the drivers side lamp did not fire one time. I switched them off and back on again and they both fired up with no problem. Haven't had that happen since. Try this link

I want an HID kit for my fog lights.

My Silverstars aren't doing it for me - quite frankly, they pale in comparison to my HIDs. (no pun intended)

Any idea if there is a kit out there that would work?

Try this guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...QQcmdZViewItem

I can get you any type of HID you need. Want H4 HID's that run both lo/high beam? H10's for your fog lights? Bi-xenon H13 / 9008's? You name it I can get it. I can get any type of HID at a price lower than I have seen on ebay so email me questions or bulb requests at fafara_rascon@hotmail.com

Here's his answer:
I do in fact have the 9145/H10 bulbs that you can use for your fog
lights. If you look at my truck video those are the same bulbs that
you would be using. H10/9145 bulbs are the same. Let me know if you
have any other questions. fafara_rascon@hotmail.com

How did you connect the harness from the kit to the factory light harness?
