I just found a dealer that has the setup I want only that the color is torch red instead of Redfire and it has a spoiler (my order has spoiler delete). I just about went through the roof when I found out he had one. Anyway there's a hitch. The way this dealer is marking it up is that he's replaced the standard wheels with a set of custom 20inchers. So instead of paying MSRP at 33,535 I'd be pushing up around $39,000. I haven't seen the car so I don't know how they look. I might go see it first thing tomorrow, but is this a stupid thing even to consider?

I think I'm just going crazy waiting and might be making a bad decision if I go with this.

Yeah, way too much money and besides the 20in rims are just slowing the car down, not making it faster

Tempting to selflessly say cancel your order. One less in front of ours, but I can’t do that. Endless you really like the 20†wheels hang in there. For me the 20" wouldn’t workout with the roads in our area.

I wouldn't settle unless it was very close to what you want. Things like color and spoiler are things I would not compromise on. Also, it sounds like you are less than thrilled with the 20" wheels, so why pay all the extra money for something you don't even want?

You're right, you'd be crazy. I'd wait for an '06 before I'd pay nearly $40 grand for a Mustang. Do I get a $5000 finders fee if I find what you want? I'd spend night and day on the phone and internet before I forked out that kind of money.

Edit: Oops, I didn't realize yours was a fully loaded Vert w/ Auto. I'd still wait though.

First of all MSRP is not $33,000, it is more like $27,000 loaded.
You should not buy that car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't even think about it.

I bought mine for $26,000 and put 20's on it for $2,200 more, that equals $28,200.

If you were to pay $39,000 is F#$*ing retarded. I would have to shoot you myself.

Just realized that your's is an vert/auto. still $39,000 = mega rip off.

We're talking Convertible here so the MSRP priced out is $33,535 on the fordvehicle.com website. Anyway I'm not going to do it. It is a waste of money. I just need the darn car by August or I'll be forced to buy something else. My family needs two cars and our second comes off lease then. Hopefully my prayers will be answered someday when I call in and find out I'm no longer clean and unscheduled.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Wait and get what you want at the right price even if it ends up being an 06 model.

Personally I like the torch red over the redfire but $5500 for rims beyond insanity. These dealers should be shot

The other dealer is either way overcharging for the 20" rims or adding a few thousand as a "dealer premiun" charge.
Do you have to have it now, or can you wait for what you really want?

Keep in mind the car will likely cost ~37k. Then 10K markup if each dealer only gets one like it's believed will happen.

As for the original post, if you want it buy it. I suggest getting what you want at the price you want if you can afford to wait. I don’t know how good the car you are currently driving is, and how long it can hold out, or other details or if you have money you can part with. Also Redfire all the way.

I thought the Shelby wasn't going to be until 2007.

Tough call on the price versus wait... it might be worth it but not if the 20" wheels aren't what you want.

Stick with the order and then buy a $3000 beater in August if you are still waiting.

Why jump now?
