Ok I got my estimate for $641 to repair. Apparently the black valence insert is only $38. Since most of the scuffing is concealed byt he license plate and it hardly noticable, it's not worth $250 to me to fix it. I'll do worse damage hitting a curb a year from now or some rock chips. I'll just buy a new valence insert and use touch up paint on the worst of the damage and save myself $200.

Can I just order that part from a dealership?

It should be available. If not try the Mustang junk yards.

Dustin, doesn't look too bad. You were actually lucky. It could have been a lot worse. Good luck. And oh, I would not file a claim on it. Looks like you can handle it yourself. Later

Sorry about your damage, but like everyone has been saying, it could have been worse. If the damage is $600 +, I would just pay it out of pocket, its not worth having a claim on your record.

My husband was driving behind a pickup truck and a garbage can blew out the back of it, and the hit the side of our blazer. It knocked the side mirror off. He was able to get the truck to stop and get their info. He then got an estimate and the owner of the truck sent him a check. So, it all worked out... but it could have been much worse!!

That's the best opinion so far.

Dustin That type of road hazard damage is coverage under your 'Comp" and your comp duductible applies. There is no chargable accident with my "AAA" It would be backup to your claim to have the Trucking companies name, but not nessecary to file the claim.

My Envoy is in for repairs to the front fascia, due to a trucks mud flap smacking it after being run over by the vehicle in front of me and flipped up. Cost me $100 for duductible, depends on your duductible, but that is one to keep low.

Dang...that bites, Dust. Something else to add to your signature, eh?

Some truck lost a load of firewood once...a log went under my dad's car and knocked a hole in the oil pan.

I saw 2 dining chairs come out of a pickup and cause a 5 car crash. At least the driver of the pickup stopped to get his chairs out of the road.
