Kevin, Congrats on your new GT, same options we have. I love our GT and will baby it far more than most, but is no way I will let anyone do any of those treatments.

I know you just want the best for your baby and your most likely all set on doing all those Dealer offered protections anyway. Bro, from an old fart, your car does not need any of those special paint protectant...leather treatment...carpet protectant...undercoating...and rust preventative. It is just a way for them to cash in on your new found joy. The paint is fine just use your favorite wax polish what ever you like useing. The interior, any leather conditioner will do and if you are hard on carpet use a $6 can of Scottguard, if not skip it. It is fact undercoatings promote corosion. The underside is coated in production of the steel with E-Glav. Just stray paint the rear axle with a black rust preventive paint to keep it like new. All the steel body panels are also two-side Electro-Glavanized. Reconsider, save your money pal, for other things.

Wow Bruce.... This is definitely not a field of my car knowledge (protectants and undercoating). Really, I am going to keep this car forever, and it will be a daily driver.......but undercoating makes a car have a greater chance of corrosion? I don't have to worry about salt on roads here in the maritime climate of the Pacific Northwest.....but it does rain cats and dogs alot of the time. If you are reading this post.....please educate me a little more on what I truly don't know much about. If any of you others that have factual knowledge on this subject, please chime in...... [/b][/quote]
Is that car not a beauty, eh?

He's right. Protection packages are renowned as simply being pure profit for the dealership.

Get yourself a cheap can of Scotchguard and a good quality leather treatment for the interior and then use the $$$ you save on the "Protection Package" to get yourself some Zaino for the paint.

Zaino is the best product that ever was for waxing your car. It's head and shoulders above any other waxing product on the market today (though it's a multi-step process) More here:

Congratulations! I looked at one just like it a few weeks ago. Only wish I could have made myself the proud owner. I know you'll enjoy it!

I'm still thinking of undercoating mine. There is tons of racket from under the car when driving over sand on the road, and rain patter in the upper rear wheel wells, its kind of annoying.
