Heres what I want. GT premium, black w/dark charcole interior, 5 speed manual, IUP, anti theft system, side air bags, bullit wheels, shaker 500. They have promissed me invoice price. Now what I don't want. Stickers or badges put on the car. Holes drilled in the front bumper for lic. plate. Some kid test driving it before I pick it up. I just want it to go without any hastle. Thanks to all, Troy

Just remind them about the stickers and the holes in front when it gets closer, they may forget, but if you keep reminding them, they will be sure to remember.

My dealer actually asked me after the car arrived if I wanted the front plate put on. I was serprised, figuring they would just do that anyway.

Yeah I need to remind my dealer not to drill any holes on mine when it comes in. But I'll wait until it's in transit or so. Weird thing is I don't really have a contact person at the delearship. My Saleswoman just dumped me on the Fleet Manager, but he's worthless, and now I have no one.

Get it in writing. No dealer badges etc. No front plate, mounting bracket, Nothing done to the front bumper. That way if they "accidentally" do it, they have to make it look like it never happened.

It looks like you've got your ducks in a row. As everyone has said, get everything that is important to you in writing and signed. Good luck with it and hopefully the wait doesn't kill you.

Up here the dealer sticker has to be in the rear window by law. Some things I would add to your list of to do's is to ask questions about where they stand with their allocations and if they require a deposit, make them give you an approximate delivery date. Don't believe them when they say "oh 6-8 weeks".

Don't believe them when they "say" anything...as stated above get everything in writing and signed, even then you'll have to hold their feet to the fire. Be friendly but firm.

Also go to a larger dealer, hopefully that has a few dealerships. The more cars they buy from Ford the better off you are in getting it sooner. They will be higher on the allocation list. The one I bought was already on order as showroom stock, but I put down the deposit and it should be here any day. If I had to order one from scratch probably would have been a longer wait. Deposit on 11/19/04, built 12/13/04, delivery 1/1/05-1/8/05. Mine was still 6 weeks wait. Or find one in stock, but don't act like you want it that bad. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for responding guys. If I order tomorrow 1/5/05 . I am hoping to get it by april. Does that sound reasonable? With all the things i've been reading here about the UIP thing, I don't know. But I'm getting tired of waiting to order.....to do or not to do? I think I will.........
