I ordered the 05 on Jan 7th. Today, I was told that my 05 wasn't picked up last week.....so it won't be. Now, how will Ford handle these customers who then order an 06? Do we get ranked pretty highly? Do we get stuck in the same mess we have been in with the 05s?

I have a priority 10 now, so that is more gooder.....

thanks

Ford will treat it like any other order, unfortunately. If you are a priority 10, and no one else who has ordered through your dealer is, you should be first. Of course you still have the 25% GT commodity to deal with.

If I missed it in your post, I apologize, but basically, its up to your dealer what priority he orders it at. As far as Ford production, they have no idea that you were on 05 order and didn't get your car.

Are you ordering through a small dealer? Being you ordered in January and never got it, I'm assuming your dealer does not have alot of allocation so this may affect your scheduling. However, if you are his first 06 order, my understanding is that each Ford dealer, through their zone rep, should have been informed by now that they get at least two Mustangs, but you still have to deal with the percentages.

Thats one of the reasons I decided to spring the extra money for a GT convertible. Even though the percentage is smaller, there is less demand for the GT convertible than there is for the GT coupe, and I'm going through a medium sized dealership and am their first 06 order, so hopefully I stand a good chance of getting it sometime this fall.

Well I got the official word my order has been dumped too. Funny the ERL still says C/U but my salesman called me to tell me today. So now I am just going to get my $$ back and try again this fall. No sense in ordering an 06, getting it in November and having it sit in the garage all winter. I passed up one on a lot last fall for that reason. But as they stated you place your new order for an 06 and get to wait all over again. stinks, but such is life...GL

If it was me Webba, I would still order now and get the car, even if it has to sit all winter, at least you have it. If demand doesn't die, you might be in the same boat comes next spring.

Ours sat all winter and it still sits most of the summer, rain rain go away, but at least we have it when we want it.

I would go with the order and be sure I have it in my garage.

Ordered 05 2-19-05. Had 7 retail orders ahead of me. By the time the drop dead date of 6-24-05 rolled around, I was number one in line (FINALLY). Actually, I was number one in line for 6-17 AND 6-24 and they did not pick up my order either time :bang:

Anyhow, I am STILL NUMBER ONE!! Which is a good thing. I'm before any and all 06 Retail orders they might have taken already. Im in front of the rest of the 05 folks that got left behind too. NUMBER ONE BABY!

So it all depends on your place in line at your dealer. Ask em

I ordered on x-plan early Feb. Do I still get my price protection? The dealer can't answer that question!

I had the same thought last year, and almost didn't get anything, had to find alocation 350 miles away, if I were in your shoes order now. IMHO

welcome to the club Billy, I am in the same boat!
I was wondering since the dealer sold more mustangs in 05 if their allocation for 06 goes up?

well i dont know how many 05`s my dealer sold but when i picked up my car the regional rep was there and she told me that the dealer was only going to get 3 mustangs for the next model year... if i would have know how low they were on the allacation list i would have went to a better dealer...if i had to do it all over again i would find a dealer with better allacations if i was you i would still keep my spot at the first dealer....and order from another dealer as well... even if you get the car throught he other dealer at least you have a 2-1 shot...

That's exactly where I sit with mine. That reminds me to call them to see what they've heard next week.

the dealer still honered my deal of 500 over invoice on the change from 05 to 06, however there was a $250 difference between the years, not that big of deal.
