Sharkstang, there are a lot of people that got A/D/X/Z plans.
I received X plan pricing when I order back in Oct, 2004.
MSRP at the time was $26,185.00 for a Deluxe GT with auto and upgraded rims
Invoice price was $24,233.46
X-plan price was $24,263.91 ( my price)
difference $30.45 over dealer invoice, $1,921.09 under MSRP
if you add on the price increases, I got it for $2,496.09 under todays MSRP

Its going to be interesting with pricing now that dealers were recently told many of the orders they have placed may never be built and should stop taking retail orders on GT's

That is why I cancelled my X-plan order and purchased one out of another dealer's stock for $50 under MSRP. I was C/U and was told to expect delivery as late as July. I was beginning to have doubts that the ordered car would get built as an '05 and I didn't want to wait until fall for an '06.

One local dealer that had been selling stock GTs for $3995 over MSRP has raised their "market adjustment" to $8995! This is without any dealer-installed extras. They say that increase is because GTs are going to get harder to come by until the fall, at least.

Hi,

I really wasn't aware the prices went up that much if any from the beginning? Do you know if the V6 went up that much? I hope not! I waited 5 months which I didn't need to because I found out my neighbor works for ford. Either way I find it strange that some people paid below dealer invoice especially for the GT! Why would any dealer take a loss or even little proffit on a car that some people were/are willing to pay around MSRP or more? Doesn't make any sense to me? I basically went through the secretary to the owner at a local Ford dealership and supposedly paid about $150 or so above their actual cost and I thought I got a great deal.

Gary, not sure how much the V6 went up on the two price increases. As far as dealers making money on the cars, they do. Ford gives the dealers a reimbursement % on the various plans. From what I understand the % is lower on x plan deals and higher on the A Z & D plan deals. From my experience when I ordered back at the end of October, I could only get X plan on an order not on in stock Mustangs. I later found out that I was the last GT to recieve X plan pricing from my dealer even on an order. They said that they just didn't make enough, even with the reimbursement from Ford. I think that it is only 2 or 3% on X plan deals.
