I'm not mad at anyone for being able to sit in the 05 already. I'm mad at myself, because I was standing right beside both the GT and V6 at the Nashville 40, peering into the interior, and stupid me, was treating them like they were pristine show cars. I should have just opened the doors and been ready for someone to say get out. But nooooooo, after going to a bazillion car shows with the "Look don't touch" signs on the cars, it must be engraved in my head not to touch other peoples cars without asking.

My time will come.

Great video shot. The music makes me think of Christine. The movie/book... that is.

Dimitrpopov,

I test drove the rx8 and my only thought was, no torque and it sounds like a lawnmower while you are driving it. I almost could not fit in it either.

I did like the suicide rear doors though, really cool. B) I would love to see that mod on the 05 Stang.
I've driven a couple of RX-8s too, and they're on my next car short list. Obviously a somewhat different car in character than the Mustang, especially when it comes to the engine bay. But it is a very well engineered and capable car. It's chassis design makes even the S197 look like a tractor, giving it supurb handling AND ride qualities (a lesson for those who can't seem to fathom the benefits of a good IRS). The suicide doors are quite clever and the rest of the car is replete with good, intelligent engineering. Mazda does have a strong engineering ethic at its core and it really shows in cars like the RX-8.

Of course the rotaries power characteristics are about the complete opposite of a big ol torquey V8, but considered on its own merits, is very interesting and capable of some very impressive speed. Yes, the torque levels are whispy, but the 9K redline and excellent, tight-ratio'ed MTX give good leverage for the torque available and commensurate acceleration if driven properly. The sound quality isn't nearly so euphonious as a Stang's V8 rumble and roar, but they are creamy smooth, revving to aforementioned 9K with disdainful ease, and just about bullet-proof.

One must also consider the motor's diminutive size and weight, allowing it to be set way low and way back, giving the RX-8 exceptional polar moments of inertia and snakebelly CG, allowing the car to make the very most of its enigne performance rather than squandering it away in the corners like lesser chassis.

RX8? The car that does nothing exceptional, and has an identity chrisis? I used to own a 93 RX7TT. I drove an RX8 once, I could live just fine never seeing or driving one again.
  • Rotary

  • Suicide Doors

  • Backseat

  • Half Modern Rear Suspension

  • Limited Slip

  • Stock Styling + MSkit

  • 6-Speed Manual Transmission

Its just missing the power. [/b][/quote]
and style, and quality of materials, and a market. the 7 owns it on all fronts. Its not suicide doors, theyre saturn doors. The 350 is a better car, and its boring too.
