Well I saw the site for "thedreamfactory.com" , pretty cool cars. And it just amazes me how many custom builders are out there selling custom Mustangs. Who would have ever imagined how popular this car would be to create such a hugh after market industry of custom builders and parts. Lets see we have Roush, Shinoda, Salleen, Thedreafactory and thier DCF500GT. Then we got Chip Foose getting in on the action with his classic impression, then their are the host of Elenor and Ronele kits.
There is no other car past or present with that much of a following like our Mustang. I dont see where anything from Dodge or Chevy is going to make much of a dent in the popularity of the Mustang.Other cars may have more horsepower , but none of them will ever be as popular as our stangs, they just dont compare to the total package we have.
One more thought, I watched Xmen2 the other day and saw the blue RX8 in the movie. I remember that was how they fiirst showed the car, it looked awsome and sounded so great. I had to laugh to myself though, I was real close to buying one. I drove one and I know the car is silent and the sounds in the movie were dubbed in, they were trying to make the car sound half as good as the car I'm driving, my 05 Stang!!!! I know I made the right choice, nothing sounds as good as my Stang!!!

I think it has to do with the legend/following of the car and the fact that you can buy a top of the line Mustang GT for under 30K. It's a car almost anyone can afford and the passion starts young. I get more looks and waves from kids under 14.
