Ordered my 2005 and took delivery with 6 miles on the odometer. She's still sitting in my driveway with 82k and change on her. I've just gotta get the gauges out and sent off and fixed.
Got the 2009 off the dealer lot with 24 miles on her and she too is still in the driveway with 62k and change on her.
And I just got the 2015 in December with 49 miles on her. Was going to order but they found the exact car I was looking to order with the exception of the spare tire. But I can always pick one of those up pretty cheap.
I love my cars and I have absolutely no intentions of giving up any of them.

we ended up with a few too, 06,07,09 though...
our 09 is a white elephant, never ever seen the road yet...just sits covered, taking garage space, only been washed a couple times...bought with 3.something on it, 6 yrs later, its at 4.9 miles currently, just gets moved around every so often to move lube around...
didnt miss it as i drive the identical 06 all summer, love that car- its got almost 71k now, been dead reliable- aside from the hood paint on all three bubbling up, the cars have been about perfect(still have two more shaker hoods to paint/stripe)...
we did a 5800 mile roadtrip last yr, 6 of us in the 06 and 07, plus picked up my mom in colorado, went to grand canyon... was a awesome roadtrip, from ohio to all over out west, didnt quite make it to california, the kids were about route66'd out i guess
These are surprisingly comfortable on long trips- did almost the same route back in 1990 in a 85 camaro, that car rode like a skateboard- but got a whopping 35 mpg across new mexico at 85 mph... the mustangs averaged about 23-25 over the trip, and ride is great
my guess is these cars will be with me for life, barring losing them to a earthquake or something similar out of my hands- but still, gotta say even if they were gone tomorrow, feel like the luckiest guy in the world for having a 'dream car' even if a lowly mustang all these years... these cars are just too much fun. weve been to the strip, grocery store, cross country and everthing in between- Ford did a excellent job on these cars. best bang for the buck ever - IMHO of course
anyone interested in 'mustang road trip pics' theres a bunch in here:

2005 was indeed the only year Ford produced the S197 in Sonic Blue and IIRC Sonic Blue was also a carry over from the previous SN95 generation, so I was thinking that perhaps Ford was in the process of retiring the color prior to the launch of the S197, but for whatever reason Ford decided to keep it around for just one more year

I have had mine just about as long. Sometime in 2004 (I believe May) and I still love it. Still play with upgrades. Car only has a little over 3000 miles on it and I am already putting in a new engine/tranny/driveshaft, etc. Going for the hot rod this time as I still love the car so why not just put the money into it to make it what I want. Should be getting it back in the spring. Can't wait.

Would've took mine out, however I suspend my insurance coverage while in storage during the winter

I just suspend collision and liability while in the garage over the winter.. I keep both fire and theft intact all year..

I have a '07 GT I ordered in September of 07 with 4 miles on it, it has about 32K now. It is windville blue and I will keep it till I die. It still looks new, I keep it in an enclosed garage.

Nice, welcome aboard.
I told my wife the same thing about keeping mine. I told her that when I die, she can just put me in the car and roll me down the back hill and bury me there.
