Well, the certificate of origin will get sent to your dealership or license bureau, you have to apply for the title through your license bureau, not sure how long after the application that you will get it.

I bought mine with Cash on Nov 18. I think I finally got my title in mid-Jan. The dealer in PA did all the paper work for the title.

The funny part is I bet you got a 30 day temp tag. I do not understand that. I had that happen in VA also. They give you a 30 day tag, then they say the real tags will take about 60 - 90 days. If they know that, why don't they give you a 60-90 tag.

I know most cops wont say much, but it is the same concept as buying a package of 8 hotdog buns and a package of 10 hot dogs. Why?

Wow, as soon as I payed the sales tax and registration fees, they handed me a plate. They have a big stack of them to hand out. Glad Florida doesn't have that problem.

We can issue plates on the spot [unless the customer wants personalized plates], just the title takes that long

I have no idea how long the title takes itself once the application is submitted, it was sent to my bank.

Yeah, in PA, they give you a plate on the spot too. They just don't give you an expiration sticker. That comes with the title. So you also have a temp plate you put in your back window to show you are waiting for a title.

Wow! No instant plates here. It took California DMV 10 weeks to get the pink slip and plates out to us. Then it turns out we decide on getting it personalized anyways!... lol

I took delivery March 24th. My dealer took care of all the paperwork including
transfer of my personal plate from my '94 GT.

I'm still waiting. DMV finally submitted my check 4/22, so I guess I shouldn't
be waiting much longer.

My dealer took care of all the paperwork including transfer of my personal plate from my '94 GT.
I threw my dealer for a loop. I brought a 97 T-Bird in with a personal plate. I wanted to put the existing personal plate on the new car, and order a new personal plate for the old car.

They could only switch the plate. They could not order a new plate for the old car until the title came in for the new car. So I asked how can I get the old car home without a plate. It was a 45 minute drive. He wasn't sure. I called DMV, they responded the same way.

So I asked if I could take the Mustang plate and put it on the T-Bird and not get in trouble. She said it wasn't legal, but she wouldn't tell me not to do it. So I ended up doing that.

Pretty goofy.
