How long does 'convoy carrier' take?
Robot lady told me tonight "As of March 22, your unit has been shipped by convoy carrier." Does anyone know if this is usually a non-stop trip from the factory to my dealer in SoCal taking just a couple of days or a milk-run taking a week or more? Gonna need sleeping pills to make the wait easier!!

Thanks for the nana...but not sure i can wait another 10 days! Yow!!
Wonder why they don't rail it right from the factory. Mapquest shows it would
be just a 2 day trip....hhmmmm

i was stuck in "shipped to convoy" from the 4th all the way to the 22nd and i only found out i finally got put on rail by going to my dealership and demanded they call the VOPC number since it has to be a dealer to call and they said my car was put on a rail on the 22nd.
my car was "shipped to convoy carrier" Jan. 26. I got it March 21. Turns out it was lost in the computer system and had to pull A LOT of strings to get it sorted out and shipped. The only way you can be sure it's on the way is when the dealer gets a rail car number.
Supposedly, it was in quality control. But when I finally got it the stereo skipped and the gas filler doesn't work, so obviously they never even fixed the problems for which it was supposed to be held.

i called the number for which not to mention and now it has no info on my car
I ordered my 2005 mustang satin silver vert on February 17th. When I called the number on March 15th it said my car was shipped via rail carrier on March 12th. I did not call the number again until March 21st. It then said my car was shipped on March 17th. It said this until yesterday. Now it says it was delivered to the ramp on March 17th. I don't know if it has to be delivered to another ramp or on its way to the dealership. I won't hold my breath.

Here's the way it worked for my Mustang-
12/14-as of December 14 your unit has been shipped via convoy carrier
12/27-as of December 27 your unit has arrived at the ramp
12/28-got THE CALL from the dealer in the morning that the car had arrived, and picked it up after work.
My car took two weeks from the ship date to delivery, and someone else here in SoCal got their car in a week.

So that means a delivery date of April 5 is fairly accurate, given the average is between 7 and 14 days. They've padded it to the max of 14 days...thanks for the replies! Anyone else on a convoy this week?

Shockingly, mine was built on 3/23 and was trucked from Flat Rock to my dealer in Cincinnati the very next day.......3/24!!!!!!
I picked it up the evening of 3/24. Rolled off the assembly line and in my driveway 24 hours later.
How about that for being fresh off the factory floor.

All I can think of is "We got a great big convoy, rockin through the night. We got a great big convoy, ain't she a beautiful site. CONVOY" Anyone else remember the trucker phase? Or did I just date myself badly? B)

Yes, I am. The information I'm receiving matches yours exactly. I'm in So. Cal also. I was told convoy to rail. My dealer is doing all the tracking, we can always compare notes, because it seems like our cars are right next to each other. You can tell mine because it's black with the red leather.
