I have read on the net that just by pulling out the emissions component in the intake piping you can get about 5HP at the wheels. I doubt that much, but hey why not take out any obstruction you can? I have the inatke rubber hose on my coffee table and I can't get that "honeycomb" thing out. I don't want to wreck it so that the dealer doesn't have a tizzy if I take it in for warranty work down the road.

How did you get it out? I know some of you have.

I'll give it a go. One thing I noticed, without using any tools or even trying that hard to remove it, there are little white paint flecks stuck to the sticky surface of the inside of the intake piping. These would end up going through the engine. The hydrocarbon trap seems to be painted white or has some kind of white coating. I don't think bits of it coming loose is a good thing. Coments??
