Hood Scoop Question for 2005?
#22
i agree. the concept hood schoops were very very nice. and i think it kept the clean look of the car. no big bump out or tack on. i think the car will look good w/ or w/o the spoiler...just a lot of preference i'm sure.
i'm think some nice aftermarket version will be available too. i'm interested to see what saleen does w/ that. i don't know if i'd ever buy an entire car from saleen (a li'l too overpiced for me), but they do make some nice stuff to enhance the car. imo.

How come they don't have the hood scoop available on the 2005's? I like how it looks on the 2004s? Hmm........to me it makes the Mustang unique from the front.
The 2004 Mustang GT with the 2005 interior would be the perfect Mustang in my opinion!!

One must be carefull when changing the aerodynamics of this vechicle if they plan on using excessive speed. A hood scoop can actually lift the frond end. Not a good thing at 140mph.

Why have one if It doesn't do anything? It looks cool to you get up close. I like the ones the dealer ok, my dealer, calls a snake hood- the 04 I rented had it. Barring that, I like the clean line on the 05- it looks like its going to come kick your tail. All nice and prowly.
Again- Hood pins I could deal with. But since they aren't an option, No one is going to drill on the hood to install em.

in 99 the GT didn't come with same scoop as the 04 GT. now you can get the 99 GT hood on your 04 V6. what I'm saying is. each generation of the Mustang starts out looking very good because its new. But as years go on they get better looking. Just like what I stated above. I like the Hood scoop for those of you who don't. But I think ford will put a scoop on the new Mustang in the next 2 years I'm guessing. In my mind, I think the Muscle Car Era is coming back. So who knows, if a scoop does get put on. It may work. instead of sitting there for no reason.

I would like a hood scoop on the 05 as it would make it look a little more sporty, but my 2000 looks fake, as it is....It serves no purpose. Am planning on putting Charcoal hood stripes on my Satin Silver 05 GT as soon as I get it!!!! I think that will dress it up without making it look cheap.

I think if I go with the hood stripes I'll also add rocker panel stripes. If I could get the concept hood I would probably wouldn't add any stripes. Just think it needs a little something extra.

J Mays and Hau Thai Tang are both very strong believers in the clean, uncluttered look. They don't like fake (ornamental) hood scoops.
In the tech session I saw on saturday, HTT said in the future, when he moves on to other projects, maybe someone will come along and tack scoops on the car.
