I've checked Ebay and several other performance mustang sites and have yet to find a good hood scoop for the '05 GT.
Anyone know of any good sites or places to find these scoops?

I got an exact replica of a fiberglass mold-in hood scoop from a '65/'66 Shelby and am going to eventually rivet and mold it into my stock hood. Will take some work but will be well worth it and will be one of a kind. I just don't like the bolt-on look. It looks cheap. I'd buy an aftermarket hood w/ scoop before I bought a bolt-on scoop. But if that's what you want to do, there are plenty of them out there right now. If you like the single scoop look like the '65 and '66 Shelby's... I'd go with the Roush hood scoop and you should be able to get that off their site for around $150. If you like the double scoop like the '67 and '68 Shelby's... Classic Design Concepts has the best looking one IMO. But it'll cost ya more like $250. I got my scoop on eBay for $43 and will spend another few bucks attaching it. Then, I can get the whole hood painted for about $150. About the same price. Just an option for others who want a scoop.

I did this on my 66 fastback last year. I bonded the scoop on using an epoxy called "DynaWeld" made especially for bonding fiberglass to metal that I got from Len at www.autobodystore.com. Spread the epoxy, ran screws through the scoop and hood to hold it in place. Sanded the edge, used minimal body filler to smooth the transition and fill holes, then painted it. I'm very happy with the results. Pics of the finished product are in the link my sig.

will it fit/look right on the 05? I knew theywere designed with the '67 in mind, but are the dimensions that close?

Good question. The 65-66 Shelby scoop in particular is quite narrow and may not look right on the expansive 05 hood. It may be worth the +/-$43 to someone to buy the bond-on scoop and lay it on their 05 so that they can see for themselves.

Heck yeah it is! I don't know that much about molding/bodywork like that, but I'd love to see how it turns out - with all the aftermarket hoods and scoops out there, it'd be nice to see an authentic one! post pics when you're done!
