What a great transmission these auto's are - in straight line WOT mode. But kickdown when you need it during a normal drive is 1 to 1.5 seconds away from when your foot tells you you need it. This drive by wire stuff if crap.

Anyone out there come up with any solutions or fixes???? There's got to be something!!

Thanks - any suggestions are appreciated.

Mark.

Unhook the battery and retrain it to you liking.

search for a thread on the diablosport tuner. I had a local get together here in jax, one guy had an auto with this tune and even on the mildest tune, the lag was gone. Mine is an auto and i am getting one as soon as i get back from my surf trip to el salvador!!

Thanks Jim, I'll check them out. But that Lentech thing looks pretty interesting.....and pretty pricey too.

Check out this thread, particularly post #11. I tried it and it helped mine - see my response at post #41.

Call Alternative Auto, give them $425 on the credit car, and problem solved....

It is a lag in the computer system that the FORD engineers put in to reduce the shock on the trans during a down shift....

A tune is the only way to completely remove it at this time....

Alternative auto USES the Excalibrator for the tune.

One important factor to keep in mind with the auto trans in these cars is it's only good for about 400 - 450hp as confirmed by Lentech. (see other thread listed above). Any more than that and your pushing your luck.
