Rupert, good to see someones had the install done.

Actually, I have seen a few people install them. I posted a thread last year about my install. I had mine put in by the dealer when th e car arrived. They put the switches on the side of the seats. It does feel real good. I use them in the summer sometime when my back tired.

I haven't had a problem with the heat it puts out... my problem is with the "motor" sound I hear from the passenger side dash when it's running.

I never understood why when I choose the floor setting heat still comes out of the defroster vent on the dash. Good idea, poorly executed.
I don't get it... good idea to have it heat the windows when you have the heater pointed to the floor, but poorly executed because heat comes out at the windows when you have it pointed to the floor.

Mine also provides very hot temps, but the amount routed to the floor seems to be less than it should.
I have checked with engineering and there are no known issues, go figure.
same here...hot on top, coldish down low...i've been thinking that maybe there was a problem...seems "normal"...annoying, but normal. i also experience the extended wait time to heat up...my focus used to heat up by the time i got to the freeway entrance (about a mile)...the mustang takes a couple of miles down the freeway before it gets up to temp.

I took mine in with the same issue and the heater hose was loose and not connected... they hooked her back up and its now a lot better...

I found that by just selecting 'floor+dash', and closing the dash vents I can drive in the winter without freezing my feet or the kids in the bachseat...otherwise 'heat' only hits driver/passenger in the face. I ordered a dvd service manual, should be here today or tomorrow- hopefully schematics are complete, and I AM going to make some changes to shut that friggin defroster. floor+ dash works, but if fan over '3' it whistles, and warms the rear too slow(floor vents seem to blow under seat to rear a bit too).

The heat output is OK but I like the relative vent locations in the 95 a lot better. If you are riding top down in marginal weather, the heat does not help a whole lot. If the vents were located better, It would make a big difference.

Drove my 06 GT vert home in 18 degree weather and it warmed up quickly and stayed very warm. Had to turn the hear down a bit and it was very comfortable.

Mine does OK when it warms up, seems to take forever. I hate how loud the fan is, sounds kinda crappy. I hope it blows arctic temps this summer.

Mine seems to be the same way.

I don't think it's the temp of the engine or air blowing out the vents. I believe it's that lack of volume that gives the effect of poor heating. Seems like it's choked off.

When it's on floor it seems like there's isn't a lot of air coming out the vents. Lots blowing up top too, glad to see it's 'normal'.

yes...not complete- however it does show the wiring well enough that adding some resistors(maybe a dual pot that could be hidden yet adjustable to figure out resistor sizes needed) should be able to pretty easily 'recalibrate' endpoints/mid(blend)point...will let you know what happens.

(poof?)

I don't really want to go into it again, because it gets me all depressed.. but I looked at scematics to determine if I could install a factory option on my vehicle. It looked like I could, the parts department determined that I could, Ford's technical engineers determined that I could.. but when I went to add the part, some of the wiring was missing in my vehicle.

Ford said that since I didn't need it for the options that weren't included originally with the car, they decided not to put the rest of the wiring in the car.

yeah- theres got to be some various harnesses for side airbags/IUP/shaker 1000...this blend issue looks like it should be fairly easy to 'fool' though- just need to shut off the car or unplug the blend motors in each of the three positions, and grab an ohm reading at each, tweak whatever needs tweaked by adding a pot to shift blend without exceeding end of travel, read the 'ok' setting on the pot and add a resistor or three as needed...wish the inner circuit of the climate control module were available- thats where the problem lies I think, unless door servos used very wide tolerance resistors which I kinda doubt.

Was it born in Hades ? kidding Mine is the same, so when engine Hot in our climate I leave it right in the middle or off 80 % of the time and all ports work the way they should to direct the flow
