I've been keeping a watch out for V8 verts and have found ZERO verts that are V8's... I'm in a large city and just haven't seen one in the past two months... Why are so many verts V6's?
Just curious...

The answer is...CASH. V6 Verts are an easy way for regular folks to enjoy the lifestyle of owning a 200+HP Mustang and a convertible for less than $25K.

There seem to be a lot of 05-06 GT and V8 convertibles in San Diego. There are more V6 convertibles because of 1) rentals 2) cost factor and 3) in general convertibles are more for cruising.

And chicks like Mustang convertibles.
95 % of the 05/06 Mustangs I have seen were V6s, and the vast majority of those were driven by women.

I see in orange county maybe 3-1 V6 coupe vrs. V8 coupe and like 10-1 V6 convertible vrs. V8 convertible.

Think alot of people like the convertible for the look and fun of having a rag top but not really interested in sporting the extra power for what amounts to almost $8 grand more after all is said and done.

Had I wanted a convertible, there would be no way for me to comfortably afford a GT version. I'm sure I'd be happy enough with the V6.

Opposite problem here, there seems to be too many verts, both GT & V6. Not enough GT coupes.

First reason as stated above is that most people comes down to a choice of GT or vert for money reasons. Second reason is rental cars.

I chose the V6 vert over the V8 coupe because insurance would have killed me. Every vert. I have seen has been a V6 and I've only seen about 5 V8's around here. One windveil, 2 Black, 1 Satin Silver and 1 Torch Red. If I see a 2005/2006 Mustang other than mine it is rare. Don't see many in San Francisco. Ricers and Camry's rule the roads here.
Until I meet them at the light

So far I saw none 2005 or 2006 Convertible Mustangs on the streets. Only one I saw was on auto show.

Where I live in Jersey I don't see many 05/06's at all when I do see one it is usually a V6 vert and I get the occasional GT coupe but it's always the same one. Fine by me though makes mine all the more rare. I don't know about you guys but I still get people staring.

I've got a GT (V-8).
Haven't figured out how I got listed as a V-6 member or how to change it.

Maybe others have the same issue.

I was at a dealership today in the DC suburbs. No GT's, about 8 or 9 V6's and most were verts. I was suprised at how many verts were on the lot.

There's not a lot of GT verts in the midwest either. I've only seen two ones other than mine. It's not like I'm complaining; it's just nice to have a car that no one else in the area has.
