Headroom in rear seats

A German guy from work is going to a wedding in Kansas next month together with his 2 sons and he told me one of his boys wanted him to rent a Mustang for the period. He asked me about the rear seats and, taking into account that they are all over 6' tall, I advised him against it, but I did recommend him renting a convertible (Kansas weather in June should be warm enough, right?).
Now, my question to you guys is: how's the headroom in the rear seat in a vert with the top colsed, compared to the coupe?

I think leg room will be a much bigger concern...

I can't answer the head room question though, sorry.

With someone in the front that is 6' tall there is no leg room in the back for someone who is 6' tall so the headroom does not mean a thing!

It would be a tight fit. But you are correct, the weather in Kansas should be beautiful in June.

I am 5'5" tall. When I am driving, someone roughly my size can sit behind me. My son, who is 6'1" tall, can not sit in the back seat under any circumstances. If you get more than a couple of inches taller than me, there is not enough headroom in the back seat. If you are my son's height, there is neither enough headroom nor legroom.

Headroom in the back of the vert is actually greater than in the coupe. But as was mentioned... its the legroom that's going to be the problem.... though if it's just the three of them maybe the person in the back can sit on one side and put legs on the other, but that would only be for very short rides.

Does he want a fun time driving or a boring time? Just rent it and stuff em in it. They will fit.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
I guess I'll recommend them renting 2 cars, if they definitely want a Mustang.

Agree with others, that headroom in my vert can handle the 6' tall but legroom is the issue. It can be done, but you'll have to give up some front legroom by moving the seats forward.
