I was looking in the owner's manual and noted the use of 9008 bulbs as the replecement for the headlights. Are the headlights on the new Mustang significantly improved over the S195? I haven't seen any comments on this yet.

I think it's sad how some people have STILL never driven a car with an HID Xenon system. Once you go there, you'll hate halogen, no question about that. Next to the sequential taillights from sequentialtaillights.com, I am getting an HID kit (already looking for one, but the dumb 9008 code is too new still and the HID version is hard to find).

When the new Mustang was announced it was mentioned that Ford would be using some new type of lighting system for the headlamps that seemed competitive with HID. I'm just disappointed to was replaced with halogen bulbs, probably as a cost saving measure. Oh Well! :bang: I'd love to have true HIDs on this car.

Lodom, you ARE right -- I completely forgot about that Futuristic "light system that functions like a camera lens, using optic ribbons and other shizznit".
Well, you know what Ford says, "If it sounds expensive, it IS and we ain't using it!" :nono:

I think it's more a matter of keeping a few things "in the bag" for mid-cycle upgrades. If they threw everything at the car right out of the gate there wouldn't be much left to keep folks buying as the platform ages.

+1 Yeah, are you guys suffering from night blindness? My stock lights are fine . High beams are very bright and work just fine for sane highway speeds at night... Around town, low beams are fine....
