So i was camping last weekend and sed the head lights to shine on my camp area to set up my tent as i arived to the site at 1:30 a.m., well after about 20 min of the lights on (all 4) they shut off and i though the battrey was killed, but to my surprise it fired right up, it seems ford did something smart with the lights and put a safty feature on them to keep the battrey from draining.
Sorry if this is a repost just found it to be really cool.

Hi Danny,
FYI, that feature has been on most cars for a long, long time now. Even my 97 GT did that. Anyway, yes you are right...it is a cool feature

i'll tell you what they should have done though is make it sowhn you pull the key out the lights go off, alot of cars do that and it makes so much more sence. Is there anyway to rig that up... humm i guess if the lights were wired to a switched source that would work.

But then you wouldn't be able to use them while camping

I agree. I like the fact that they turn off after 20 minutes, but don't want them to go off as soon as the key comes out. I'd like to be able to use the light if I need to for a little while. I guess it's like the radio that stays on 10 minutes after you turn the car off... it let's you keep using the radio/lights without the key, but won't let you drain the battery either.

Yes it is a nice feature. Even works with interior lights.

Has saved my 95 t-bird from many of jumpstarts, lol

Get in the next morning and start your car and the interior lights are on and you just go, whew!
