Having car serviced
I just got a letter from my dealer saying I should be approaching 3,000 miles and they recommend a service of the car. I'm not near 3,000 miles yet and the only service I cans ee is changing my oil soon anyways. Does anyone know what a dealer service includes besides takign my $$ for something I can do myself?
What are your opinions on having the dealer look at the car if there is nothing noticeably wrong?

I believe 3k is only oil and filter. They typically do a "quality inspection" where they'll check the other fluids and top them off as well as checking tire tread/pressure etc.. It shouldn't cost much but if you'd rather do it yourself that wouldn't hurt either (I wouldn't think so anyway). If memory serves me correctly, I think they have a list of what's typically checked at various intervals in the scheduled service manual. Please excuse me if I'm grossly incorrect.
