On this note - I suddenly got an air leak in my 16in right rear tire. It goes from 35PSI to 15-20 overnight. While I am going to a dealer to fix it this Saturday I have to inflate the tire every morning and before leaving for home from work. Any ideas what migth have caused it? A nail? I busted valve? With 25k miles any chance it might be covered by a warranty (assuming it's a valve)?

Probably a nail. I had one in my 18" BFG KDW and it was losing about 16-20 psi a night. Made me mad! I got a $4 tire repair kit at pep boys and fixed it myself. Real easy, can't believe I almost went to a dealer or NTB. Simple stuff as long as the hole isn't in the sidewall.

Just to let you now you just voided the manufacturers warranty on that tire.
Also I would not recommend making that a permanent repair, or drive over 65 mph for a sustained period

Door sticker cites 32 PSI front and back. My sensor just went off and I had to re-filled. Computer re-set itself within a minute.

I check mine about every two weeks and sometimes more. A little leak can pop up and you can be down 10 or more lbs and not even notice. I have been surprised many times in the past by checking my tires and finding they were low when I thought they were fine.

Just curious: your TPMS should kick in WAY before you're down "10 or more lbs"... how did yours go unnoticed?

I don't believe that he has TPMS... True, TPMS would kick in before you're down 10 psi.

Mine also consistently lose about 1-2 lb per month. I have 50K+ miles and the Pirellis still look pretty good. And I think that this is the longest I have ever gone without picking up a nail or screw.

I had a slow leak in my right rear tire for the last few months, Discount Tire couldn't find it, but I got used to airing it up every 10 days or so. It'd take that long to go from 32 to 20psi. Finally just got them to put a new tire on (I changed out to KDW NT's less than a week after picking the car up) and it's been steady ever since.
