It's 143 on the current GT and electronically governed at 155 on Cobras, so my guess is 145.

Ok, since my remark of 140 is apparently being cast in the wrong light... Yes, most cars only can achieve 3/4 of what it says on the speedo (some can surpass it also...which I don't know from experience ) And I'm sure a friendly officer will be glad to tell ya how fast you're going B)

Top speed is usually governed by powertrain bending and tire speed rating. Since the 05 car has a 2 piece driveshaft, it will have higher powertrain bending threshold than SN95 GT. Therefore, the top speed will be electronically limited to tire speed rating. Each manufacturer uses their own guidelines on how much below the top speed of the tire they limit the vehicle too. Ford may be a bit more conservative after Firestone incident on Explorers. I would venture to guess 143-145mph range.
