Other than the V6 seats saying MUSTANG and the GT seats having the ponies, is there any difference between the seats? I'm buying a set of seat covers to have some custom work done and I wanted to make sure that was the only difference.

 

No, under the upholstery they are the same.

 

Is the rest of the upholstery the same also? i.e. style, texture, panels, etc? (other than the ponies/lettering)

 

Material is the same texture other than the insert design. Panel sewing is different, but attaches to the cushion in the same fashion.

If you took out the inserts, would you be able to tell the two apart?

 

Yes you can tell them apart. The width of the panels on the GT cloth are double in size of over the V6 cloth and similar in difference in the GT and V6 leather panel size.
