I have had my dream car for a month... and I am curious to find out how everyone else is doing out there with their fuel consumption

I am currently getting 14.1L/100kms on the fuel-o-meter

 

that would be approximately 16.675 mpg....darn...keep your foot out of it :P

I guess you know that you can change your dash readout from metric to imperial (English), if you want mpg readout.

My GT with a little over 4,000 miles on it is getting around 23 mpg average - up to 27/28 highway average. The mileage improves as the car breaks in, and as you learn how to 'drive' it.

 

I average 21.5 MPG US
Converted, that's about 11 L/100kms.

How many miles/kms?

I noticed that for the first 1500 miles my mileage sukced.

 

3000 km (1875 miles) already, and I still can't get an average lower than 14.0-14.5 l/100 km (higher than 16.2 - 16.8 mpg), at 85% city driving!

 

I'm 70/30 highway/city and i get 10.8 average

If I'm on the highway, I get 9.4 in cruise in 5th @ 120km/hr

I'm VERY glad to hear the mpg improves. I'm just shy of 1000 miles, and my best is 16.4, yikes! I"m taking my first long distance trip this weekend and I'm curious to see what mpg I'll get with highway miles.

 

The US gallon is smaller than the gallon the rest of the world uses, so if you set your message centre to read MPG, in Canada, this is wrong.

Multiply this 1.2, to get the MPGs in the normal size gallon. IE, if your message centre reads 26 mpg, you are getting 26 miles per gallon in american gallons, and 31 miles per gallon using the standard size gallon.


.... That said, window stickers on Canadian cars list the milage as 33 highway miles per gallon. I have come very close to this figure, driving at about 110kph and no head wind.

 

I never new that the Canadian MPG and US MPG were different. I spent last week up there shopping for cars with my friends, and wondered why their cars were so much more effecient. I is all becoming very clear to me now.

My V6 Manual averages between 26-34 Canadian MPG. That sure sounds better than the 22-28 US MPG I am getting!

The change from metric to gallons reflects US gallons which are smaller than Canadian gallons so you'll have to convert manually to Canadian gallons.

 

I've got 2300 kms on mine and my latest intown average is 11.6L/100. On the highway at 110-120 kph I seem to run about 9.7L/100.

 

I will bet that the computer shows US Gallons instead of the english gallons. I will check the next time I am in the car.

I agree about the mileage being related to engine break in... I drive about 65/35 city/highway and averaged close to 13l/100 a tank for the first 1500kms. Since I have broken the car in officially, I have averaged about 10.5L/100km on a tank. If you keep your foot out of it, the car gets fantastic gas mileage.
