Gray GT and Torch Red V6 in Austin (pics)
Got an email from my dealer, Leif Johnson Ford here in Austin, that they had an 05 GT and V6 in stock so I went to go see the new Mustang for the first time in person. Didn't test drive anything, the GT was of course already sold, but did get a few pictures I thought I'd share.
The GT was a Mineral Gray with charcoal cloth interior, no IUP, and a 5 speed. I was surprised at how small and flimsy the rear spoiler was - I thought it would be more like the one on previous Mustangs, but it was much smaller and seemed a bit on the flimsy side. I was also surprised at how skinny the tires were, and the Bullitt wheels for some reason seemed smaller than on my GT. Could have been because the tire sidewall is taller I would guess, but with 300 hp seems like it could fry up those tires for dinner right out of the box B) . And whats up with the F150 side mirrors? Oh well, that's pretty minor stuff anyhow. Here's the pics:

The V6 coupe was Torch Red with Medium parchment cloth interior and gold sport stripes on the sides/door. I like the V6 wheels with the spinners - I thought the spinners might be a bit over the top but they are not really noticeable until you are looking right at the wheel, from the front or back they blend in nicely. Really like that red!
Sorry for the blurry pic, I stepped off a curb just as I snapped this one

Tonight pretty much sold me - I'll be placing an order sometime this spring, maybe red to go with my redfire03 GT B) Enjoy the pics!

The color on that GT was really neat - it seemed to take on the color of whatever light was shining on it at the time. Looked real nice with the Bullitts. And I agree, after a few thousand miles of road grime and bugs those grilles aren't gonna look so great. My '03 grille had road grime all in it and it took forever to clean it all out so it didn't look faded, this one could be a real pain. Perhaps a small, soft bristled brush will help during wash time though.
Longhorn-gal, congrats on your new GT - really sharp ride. My 03 came from the same dealership you got yours from in Georgetown B) .
