Well, it was bound to happen!

I got my car on Wednesday, and last night...my buddy and I jacked up the rear end in a nice big garage and took off the rear mufflers, and replaced them with the bassini axleback kit.

Sorry...no pics...I forgot my camera.....but they sound awesome btw. I will try to get a sound clip for ya guys.

Anyway...we fire her up, and go for a sping after the project is finished. We finally reach the entrance to his home tract.....hee hee...now we can hear these things. :headbang:

I check both ways....clear....all systems are a go.....sqwak.....black leader....you are clear for take off.

So I take off....not insanely fast, but I get it up to about 50 very quickly....its a 40mph street. immediately...

:cop2: :cop:

WOOOOOOOOOOOO....bright lights, sqwak, etc.

So now I think...what the heck....I JUST started driving. The cop came up, and I was polite.

"Hey how's it going officer?"
"Fine, this is a nice car you have here."
"Thank you, I just bought it last night"
"Yeah, I like these body styles alot better than the last ones...they last ones looked girly"
"Yeah, I had one of those"
"Oh, well....I am sure it was nice too. Id's from both of ya"

So my buddy and I hand him our ids...and then I realize....I don't have my insurance card. when i bought the car...I brought my slip in, and it is still with all my paperwork at home. So now I am freaking out. He is gonna ask for my proof of insurance...and I have none.

Then he asks something weird.

"Are either of you on probation?"

Now, my buddy is...and he answers yeah. He goes in depth about what he got in trouble for....but that's another story. :notnice:

Anyway, per his probation....he is supposed to get searched ALONG with the car he is riding in. Neither of us knew this...and when the officer said that....I just about cried. For those of you who do not know, when the cops search your car...they aren't careful. They can take door panels off....pull the seats out....anything they want. BUT

"I am not going to search this fine vehicle...wouldn't want to mess it up....but I do need to search your buddy."

PHEW.

Anyway, my buddy got searched and the cop said....

"alright guys, here are your ids.....take it easy tonight. And very nice car"

SO....we then realized....if my buddy hadn't been on probation....the officer probably would have asked for insurance, and I would have a ticket.

funny how things work.

So kids, the moral here is to befriend people who are on probation and drive in a fast stang with a great exhaust....

Sounds like the police officer was a reasonable guy.

Wow seems just about every story the cop has let the person off because of the car.

HAHAHAHA. well, my buddy got mixed up in some stuff he shouldn't have. But he is 21 now, happily married...and has a very healthy 3 month old baby. He has straightened out his life alot.

Anyway...yeah, the officer was very nice and loved the car.

In that case, I should order my Mustang sooner rather than later.

WooHooo!!! Right on...

Cept, being that you bought the car the night before, and your window sticker proves that, I bet he woulda let you off anyway. The PD knows that the dealership covers vehicles for the first minimum 10 days (ours covered for 30) and most insurance companies automatically cover cars for the first 30days, even before you tell them you got it.

Sounds to me like you got pulled over just so he could get a close look at her..

HAHAHA

I don't need friends for that. That's what I have family for. Seriously my brother & cousin are both on probation, yet ALL of my friends are clean. So who needs friend when you have family.

SurfnSoCal ~ Congrats btw on the car & avoiding the ticket.

I'd say you passed up a fine opportunity to see exactly how fast that Pony is! You don't think your buddy would have been freaking, do ya?

the temp. tag that u have, has ur insurance policy number on it along with ur insurance name and ur signature, ur suppose to hand the copy that u get to the officer so he can read the policy number and name of insurance company and call it in, so they can find out they are processing your vehicle to be insured

Awww! That's scarey! Lmao. Glad nothing bad happened and you got a cool cop. The cops in the city where I work are ridiculous, no mercy. I've only got one ticket in my life (I'm only 21, but hey), something utterly stupid. I was very polite etc. Oh well, that was 2 years ago. My mom just got a ticket in the same city (for 40 in a 35). Harley Bill and Dke prolly know what city I'm talking about.

Oh well, be careful but don't let them burst your bubble. Have fun with that new exhaust.
