I'm going to try another attempt at getting an 2005 GT. My local dealer told me that I'm out of luck with my 12/08/04 order. They are getting 3 2005 Mustangs total and mine ain't one of them. Would have been nice to know a while ago that this was a lost cause. I won't rant about Ford's allocation process- they know who they are screwing and why they do it.

Anyway- I'm going to a huge dealer in Minnesota and try a new order. They tell me they do X-plan and the price isn't too much more than the local guy quoted me for the mythical GT I had on order. They say they can get me a GT by summer.
I'm really skeptical that this will be a hosed-up experience as well , but my wife and I really want an 05 Mustang GT, so we're gonna take a shot.

At least I can quit checking with the VRU lady (and whining) for a few months.

Good luck to all who are in C/U purgatory!!

Brad

Brad ~ Man sorry to hear about that. Hopefully this other dealer will treat you better than the other. I hope you get your car soon. Keep us updated.

I kinda know what you mean. My first dealer waited from July to Oct until he told me that he did not have enough allocations for me. And that if I wanted to stick with him I could wait until he got more. Fortunately, there was enough time for me to switch dealers and still get an 05.

Yeah, you guys need to go to a volume Dealer! :nono:

I went to one, and two weeks later already had a build date!

I really ticks me off that because I live in, Ford's view, a small market. I am beginning to feel like a 2nd class citizen and that my money isn't as green as the people in the bigger markets. We shouldn't be forced to spend our dollars in another area because of this. I was fully aware going into this that I was ordering from a small town dealer and one that it relatively new. I knew that it may take a little bit longer than it would take in a major market, but my goodness, 4 months and not even in the pipeline to be built is insulting. :notnice: I'll get off my soap box now!
But, to everyone who has been scheduled, Congratulations! Enjoy it for us that can't seem to get built.

Good luck on getting an order placed Brad. I'm surprised that dealer even took the order when they would have already known what the number of mustangs they could order was.

It looks like he ordered a v6. They seem to have a quicker turnaround. I've ordered from a volume dealer on 10/22/04 in Maryland and I'm still waiting for my GT.

This is scaring me, I went to the smallest dealer around here, nice, but they didn't know how to input my order to have our name on sticker. So my order sat a week with calling me.

The best of luck for you. That first dealer really should have told you a while back.
I too have ordered from a local dealer, wanted service to be local. (i don't think you get as good service if you didn't buy car from them) If they do that to me I'll have to consider not going back for any other orders in the future.
for other people in same boat i hear that you can order from a dealer far away and have your order drop shipped from factory to a local dealer. You may want to consider this, and order from a BIG dealer, with plenty of allocation.

Is there any way to find out which dealers have unused allocations?

Hope the best for you!
I think alot of us are getting caught in this dealer allocations thing.
Plus if you want plan pricing on top of it, Well! that's more trouble.
I got Xplan 12/1/04, but dealer not taking any plans now on any Mustangs.
I think the only way to find out dealers allocations is to ask them!
I think that's what Karpo said. But will the dealer tell you up front, that he has
enough for your order. That's I think is the problem.
Anyway hope the best for all!
Happy Trails!!
