The time has come, my baby is going into the dealership for her first oil change (first one is free). I also need them to adress the skipper 500 CD player issue and the popping sound when you turn the wheel issue as well. Any guess as to how long she'll be in the shop? I did tell them which TSB's needed attention when I made the appointment for the oil change.

One other thing......I can't find the thread about how to tell if you have the first or second version of the shaker 500. I seem to remember there being some kind of a code that you could make come up on the unit. Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

The dealer will have to order the parts for the car and you'll have to take it back when they have the parts.
I got my Shaker-500 replaced...it took about a week for the dealer to get a new one, and when I took the car back to the dealer it took them about a hour to install it and I was on my way.

As to how to check for the version you have...in FM mode press buttons 3 and 6 and the system will do a self-test and at the end of the test you'll see an A or B.

I'm still waiting for the front end parts to come in...it's been over a month since the parts were ordered.

Cathy, I had the TSB taken care of for the front strut issue. I called them when the TSB officially came out. They ordered the parts which took a week or two if I remember correctly. Once they came in I scheduled the appointment and it took less than a day which also included the 5,000 mile check which I did early. They gave me a 2005 Focus X? something rental to drive home. All in all is was painless. Hope this info helps.

Bobby, that's great news. I hope my dealership is as accomadating (sp?) as yours! I did let them know on Tuesday of last week about the Shaker 500 and the strut issue so maybe they did get the parts in and I get lucky and it all will be done in one shot.

Mike, thanks for the info. Not that I don't trust my dealer but it would be nice to be able to check for myself.
