$210? Are these really worth the extra money? How much are the stock rubber parts?

Wow, $200. That's a lot of money for no better performance over stock.

A stock upper radiator hose is about $45 for a Gates brand. Not sure about the lower, but it can't be more than $20.

Unless there's something special about those ones, that's way too much for just a 2-piece set.

If you want to swap the colors of your hose kit, and also upgrade the material a little, try some of the hose kits wandering around, like this one. It's only $90-some bucks and has the whole kit.

That's a great price, but I don't see where you can swap the colors, as you say. The kit at AM is only black.

IIRC, the FRPP set for the Foxes were available on SSPs. Supposedly they last longer than regular hoses and the only way they'd fail is if they were cut at least from what I've heard. Still, that price is pretty steep.

Yes, Samco hoses are expensive.

I found this forum and thread searching to see my ranking on Samco V6 hoses on Google. And the gentleman I hooked up with the red hoses said a lot of people were complaining about the cost.

Are they better than OEM? YES! But probably not needed for a daily driver. Most people would never need the added safety and quality of Samco Hoses. They supply 90% of the F1 cars for a reason. Unfortunately Samco doesn't have different grades of quality.

Pricing is based on how complex a hose is and how much of the hose there actually is. A scion tc hose is not the same as a mustang kit. There are many cheaper silicone companies out there, Samco has never advertised to be the cheapest and never will, Samcos name is what it is today because of high quality supported by their lifetime warranty.

There will always be different people with different budgets. The people who want the best will pay for the best. The people who complain will complain even if it was $50.

I have personally seen enough Made in China with a Japanese name hoses split wide open on road courses. I will stick to what I believe in and only sell what I would personally put on my own car when I subject it to the abuse I do.

To each their own, but comparing a LIFETIME warranty silcone hose to a stock rubber one in price is not a comparison.

There isn't another company out there making V6 hose kits for 2005+ Mustangs, let alone in 13 color options. If you think the V6 kits are expensive, try a GT500 hose set

And yes...the performance of a Silicone hose IS better than stock. The SSP Mustangs and Crown Vics had them for a reason. There's actually less heat given up by the hose and more gets to the radiator where it's supposed to be cooled.

Samco GT500 kits are 10 hoses, replacing 13 stock hoses.
2005-06 GT, 5 hoses
2007+ GT 3 hoses
2005+ V-6 is 3 hoses

Samco will ONLY make a hose kit if there's enough interest. So enough people believe the price is worth it. When I was at SEMA I saw the competitor's hoses...uh, yeah...NO THANKS! You can tell by the weight you are getting junk.

It's true, a quality silicone hose will offer better cooling than the stock stuff. Pro motocross riders have been adding silicone radiator hoses because it does aid in cooling for a long time.
