Someone else had a heart drawn on theirs a few weeks ago. Some people at the assembly line are having a good time!

I picked up the red dupli-colour from our Canadian Tire dept. store.
Was $20 Canadian.
BUT!!! i was told by a custom painter that Regular car paint would do the same job.
In a way he has a point. Leave your car in the baking sun and take the metals temp. I'm sure if the paint can withstand the suns baking heat, it will do the same for the caliper.
N E ways, Great job Dave

I'll second that. I posted his name before, back when I did my painting. . I had good business with him too. My decals came quick, and with extras incase I messed up.

I have red brake calipers on my bullitt and I love them. It is just enough of a style that dosnt really jump out at you.
As for black, I like the creativity behind personalizing your car, but black to me makes them disappear rather than stand out. If that was the goal, then mission accomplished. As for the rest of the car, very nice. Black looks amazing on this design.

When the wheels are super clean, the clalipers stand out a bit more than you would think.... but you are right, NOT as much as say RED or something like that... they don't dissapear though - and the neat thing is, the PONY decals nturally draw your eye right to 'em.....

I have yet to find anything like that on my car, although when I was installing the pulleys, I noticed that the engine block was stamped with the date it was built... August 27th... my birthday. So, my baby and I share the same birthday.

I disagree with that painter, because your brakes can go upwards near a 1,000 degrees under servere conditions and average around 500 normally. That is much more than a sunbake on metal max of around 160-180 degrees. A high heat paint will last a lot longer. A body paint will just burn off a lot sooner has no ceramic.

Dave,
Your calipers look nice. As an added detail I also painted the rotors to match on my Cobra and will do so this spring on the GT.
Here is poor picture of wheel and brakes. The outer rim and fans of rotor are painted also.

Just got props driving home from work Thursday night from a guy in a 330I(?) Beemer.... pulled up next to me and stopped talking on the phone so he could talk to me about the car. Funny - you always know the CAR minded folks who know EXACTLY that it is an '05 Mustang GT - instead of 'beautiful car', they always say "So how do you like it?" first thing...
![04](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/04.gif)
My brother and I were planning our next step with the Dark Knight II.... still waiting for the right 18 inch wheels (with BFG tires - size ala Steal101) - so looks like Eibach springs are next on the list along with C&L CAI, Predator tuner, and quite possibly, the Steeda cowl racing hood. After all that, maybe a new rear spoiler (Xenon? Westrenz?) and that should pretty much complete what I want to do with it for the immediate future - DK II Stage One

Man what a beautiful day here today - gonna go put on some miles... :drive:
