The 06 GT that we got in Oct now has over 8,000miles on it. We noticed just recently a rubbing sound coming from the front end. This happens when decelerating and turning (left or right).

I thought it might of just been the tires on blacktop but in the rain it's been doing it too.

The technician at the Ford dealership thought it might be the tires so he's gonna rotate them. He was able to recreate the noise by driving around in circles, in the parking lot. It took a little time for it to start making the noise but finally got it to do it constantly.

He checked for any interference with the tires and it was not rubbing on anything.

We first noticed the problem when pulling into a parking spot, so it was decelerating and turning as we were coming to a stop.

Anyone else having an issue like this? Odd thing it that the sound can be heard CLEARLY inside the vehicle but not outside.

Mine does the same thing.

I've noticed that mine makes the noise once i've been driving a while and everything gets up to operating temps. it's a whine that oscillates. It's especially noticable making slow, sharper turns in neighborhoods and parking lots. Ford (who is really starting to **** me off) says it's 'normal.' I'm currently trying to set up an appointment with another dealer.

Okay, I went and rotated the tires. So the front right tire where the noise seemed to be... well it's now coming from the left rear. It is definately coming from the rear now that I have rotated the tires.

So is it the tire or is it the rim? I can't recall any vibrations from the wheels so I don't think that they are bent. The only way they could be bent is either from the factory or from potholes, but the car has not seen hardly any of those and nothing of great size.

Hope this helps and I hope someone else can guide me.

Good luck.

I had this happen on my V6 with 12k miles on it two days ago. It went away. I'll keep on monitoring it and will ask dealer and post reply if this happens again.

i had this problem as well... and I fixed it by filling the power steering fluid because mine was very low for some strange reason. There has been a problem on some of these cars where the power steering fluid gets low, so that would directly cause that noise you have hearing. It might not be the problem, but it fixed the noise i was hearing for me.
