i really hope this is a joke. Why would they take the charger name and make a family car out of it? i was really hoping that American companies were goign to make all the beautiful muscle/sport cars again to bring back the good ole days when people respected cars. now, i dont think i should hold my breath. The gto is fast but looks weird, the charger is a family car??? now my only hope is that the 07 camaro is remotely desent.
whats next, a hot rod carvan with a Hemi? "when soccer moms go bad....." :bang:

I have colleagues who have seen the production car and tell me it looks great.
I will reserve judgement for when I see the car in the flesh.
I think this will be a great seller for people who want a musclecar but want to fit the family.
Boomer I don't know about the rumours that they will shorten the LX platform and build a musclecar off it. It would be very easy to do, but no real rumours to the effect.

Dont give Mr Ford any ideas...

I wish Dodge would get back into the muscle car race and not the "muscular but my 4 door frame ways too much to do any good" race. Man I would love to race a new 2 door Chager with that Hemi in it.

IMO the lousy pic and the hoooorible color make it impossible for me to voice an opinion about the car's appeal. But my mechanic told me never to go near current Chrysler products no matter how cute they look.

Chryslers, as of a few years ago, are crap. The new ones, I dunno. But I did drive a 340 hp Magnum, and it was slow. It was an auto, and had minimal body roll and nice brakes, but no acceleration.
I wish the Charger would come back as a muscle car, but I doubt it will happen soon.

Ford has nothing to worry about. The Mustang has a huge following.
We now have a 200 plus HP V6, a 300 HP GT and in late 06 we will have a 475 - 500 HP Cobra. And someday an SE.

Looks like Dodge is taking a page out of the Pontiac book. Put a big engine in a ugly boring looking car that has no style . The new Charger looks like a brick on wheels. I like the old chargers aka General Lee(Dukes of Hazzard) but I am sorry Dodge comes out with that they are dropping the ball for their fans just like Pontiac with the GTO :notnice: . The new one does not take any styling ques from the past.
