Have an appointment Monday to get my Drivers side airbag replaced. They told me it would only take an hour.

They're not replacing the whole airbag.
They're pulling the airbag out, replacing the inflator module off the back of it, and re-installing the whole assembly

Cool. I wonder if they have replaced the explosive with something more stable? Or if they have better designed the unit to allow for less moisture to get through?

My dealer had my inflator replaced and me out the door in about 35 minutes, but I scheduled my appointment for first thing in the morning. I also think they had a dedicated tech doing nothing but the recall.

I live in CA and have the same recall on my vehicle. I went to my dealership to have it fixed and they told me that the recall is new still and that ford has not made the part. They were not able to do it and I was told that the part should be available by the end of the year. It seems like some here are getting it fixed. Is my dealer lying to me or does it depend by state? I have been getting several letters in the mail about this re call as well.

I've been waiting too. I believe California is low on the priority list. The places that are more humid are where they are starting. I live in California and I've been waiting too. My car is a 2012.

In New Jersey, called my dealer and they said the parts are slowly getting out and will let me know when available.

Finally got the replacement done on my 2005 GT yesterday (Wednesday 6/15/2016). Next up is my 2010 BMW 335i. Will see when I get the official call. Guessing maybe early 2017?

Got mine done twice in 3 weeks.
They got the part for the 2014 recall (which was basically a temp fix, newer version of the crappy old bag)

And had the 15S21 replaced today which no one was expecting the parts to come in that soon for it.
Owner.Ford.com shows the status change from 12(no fix) to 11(not completed), so yes parts are available. Just a matter of when.
From reading all the articles on the subject, it sounds like they are getting parts to area's that are known for higher humidity which is part of the problem.

Or just start wearing full face helmet, and pretend you're on the drag strip!
