Just got off the phone with them. Here's the good news:
I'll be allowed to take my videocamera, so you can expect a nice video from me.
Here's the bad news:
She said that there will be multiple vehicles of each model, but she could only confirm that there would be auto tranny cars.
There will be a specific course that you drive, most likely along with a bunch of other cars, so opening it up and going your own pace is likely not an option, which is a huge bummer for me. I would like to push the cars to its limits, find out how it oversteers, check the braking, body roll, etc.
Anyway, I'll let you guys know what's up after I drive it Thursday.

Definitely. I'll have my guest film from the passenger seat while I'm driving, and I'll film some other people driving them from outside.
Will you guys have a place for me to upload a movie?

Just no before the drive Amy. Would stink to get a DUI charge before you reach second in the 05.

Yah, no poo, if the course is 40mph, then I guess I'll be brake-torqueing a burnout at 40 (they meant 40mph forward motion, not on the speedo, right? ;-)

I don't want it smoking by the time I get to it.
It's too bad about the track setup and conditions of the drive. They'll prolly have us trailing a Five Hundred for cripes sake. Well if nothing else we'll have at least 4 solid reviews from this forum's "frequent flyers" (I'm counting Proc, Shea, Amy, and myself..........any others?)
Should give some fresh perspective....
EDIT: err.....um, make that 3 solid reviews. :hiding: I realize the admins have their reasons, as well as the authority to act on matters as they see fit given the best interests of the site. Still, the outome is unfortunate. He didn't strike me as a terribly bad guy

Last year I was invited to partake in a GM sponsored event in Los Angeles where everyone was given the opportunity to drive numerous GM vehicles, along with similar vehicles from GM's competitors. For example a Caddy CTS along with a BMW 3 series, a Chevy Trailblazer along with a Jeep Grand Jerokee. You could take any vehicle out an unlimited number of times. I remember we were limited to a speed limit of 30 mph though, around a makeshift course, with other vehicles infront and behind you. I'm wondering if the Ford Racing Innovation Drive will be similar to this.
At this event they also had a separate course to drive the Corvette Z06. Each person was given one opportunity in the Corvette. We were limited to first and second gear with a professional driver sitting in the passenger seat next to you, but you could accelerate as aggressively as you wanted and drive it hard through the turns. I was able to get the car up to around 60 mph. It would be nice if Ford would offer something like this for the Mustang GT during the Innovation Drive event. I'll be there on Sept 2nd in L.A.
