This will tell you everything about the first 11 digits of your Mustang's VIN.

The first 3 digits should read 1ZV which is the Vehicule Manufacturer: Automotive Alliance International (USA), Make: Ford & Type: Passenger Car.

the following 8 digits will tell you about the Restraint System Type, Line / Series / Body Type, Engine Type-Displacement / Cylinders / Fuel Type / Manufacturer / Net Brake H.P., Model Year & Assembly Plant, which should be (VIN Position 11: 5) AAI: Flat Rock, Michigan (where AAI stands for "Automotive Alliance International").

The last six digits numeric sequece code should range between 100,001 and 599,999.

One clarification that should be noted is that these are not in one up numbers. IE, if you find a SN of 201557, I can guarentee you that you won't find one with an SN of 201558.
