Fog light lens cracks?

I actually did have the vinyl static cling tints on them for awhile. The cracks had already started, and I wanted to hide the cracks and make the front of the car less "busy" while I was at it. I also was hoping that people would stop flashing me, thinking the fogs were brights. The cracks got worse after I put them on, and I eventually just took them off, as everyone flashed me anyway. I think I may have spritzed them on with Windex, or possibly just water. How would that harm the plastic? Anyway they're replaced now. They'll look good if/when I sell the car, or they'll get replaced with a Bullit grille with no fogs and I'll add fogs under the bumper if I end up keeping it. (I really want an 08 SGT )

PIAA driving lights might be a better choice as they use a glass lens and metal reflector housing, IIIRC.
