Placed my order last Thursday after spending months deciding the color I want and then trying to find a local dealer who would take X-plan. My dealer says to expect it in the Spring. On order:
'05 GT Premium
Mineral Grey
Dark Charcoal
Bullitt Wheels
IUP
Spoiler Delete
Anti-Theft
Side Airbags
Wheel Locks
Automatic Tranny (still undecided but dealer says I have a month to delete it).
Priority code 45 (because it is X-plan. MSRP orders get priority per dealer).

Out of curiosity, did your dealer say anything about the IUP availability? I just ordered mine on 1/14, and I practically had to beg the dealer to take my order with the option. He said there's I chance I might not get my car at all! It's possible he just wanted to seal the deal by having me order the 18R interior upgrade or upgrading the dash aftermarket, he mentioned both of these options and I said I'd really like to hold out for the exact car I want, then he reluctantly took my order. It was actually kind of a drag not being given an estimated delivery date, and made to feel like I might not ever get my car.

My salesman is the fleet manager so he was able to enter my order into Ford's system while I watched and it was accepted with IUP. Hope this helps.

Congrats. If you like both manual and auto tranny's it will come down to
1. Manual - save yourself some cash
2. Auto - you can simply drive it without worrying about dumping the clutch, stalling etc.....
I went with the manual

Hello Everyone, I just ordered mine on 1/14 as well on X-Plan!!! Here's what I ordered:
05 GT Premium
IUP
Red Leather
Silver
Spoiler Delete
Anti-Theft
Side Airbags
Bullit Wheels
Automatic
They too tried to talk me out of IUP, saying that I could get my car in about 6 weeks instead of 12-14 weeks. I am in no hurry and really like the My Color option with the message center so they placed the order for the IUP for me.

IWantMyNewGT,
Just for interest what colours were you looking at before deciding on Mineral Grey?
I'm in the same boat,
Went from Legend Lime (1st choice) to Sonic Blue now I'm at Mineral Grey/Legend Lime.

It is the only dealer in the region who will accept X-plan at this point. I really like to have my cars serviced where I buy them, so didn't want to order from an out of area dealer. I think it gives you some leverage if there are warranty issues later on.
But yes, priority 45 stinks!

I decided on MG for these reasons:
1) It is a match (or VERY close) to the color of the Bullitt wheels which looks sharp.
2) It is approximately the color of road dirt in my area. I often work six days a week, so don't get to wash my car as frequently as I'd like. I figure MG will look cleaner longer than the other colors.
3) I'm hoping it will draw less attention from the Highway Patrol than the brighter colors.

Yes I did. I said you referred me, so maybe they'll kick you down some freebies.
Or at least a better priority number! Thanks again.
For those of you on the SF Peninsula or Southern Alameda County, Towne Ford in Redwood City is the only dealer I found who would accept X-plan. Ask for John in the fleet dept.
Just be prepared to wait...
