So finally got the vin number for the 06 VB GT. I hope it will be built soon. They told me that it didn't have a build date yet, but it should be soon. I was also told that the system only pulls on Fridays(and or updates). Is this true? Anyways, can't wait to get the car. The 4 year wait will soon be over.

I believe that is correct. Ford pulls orders and updates their build plans weekly. Thursday or Friday.

Congrats on your VIN!

Thanks. Can't wait until it arrives. Too many mods, so little time.

You should have an update within a few days. I was serialized without a build date for two or three days, then got a build week. It updates more than once a week.

If I remember correcty what I learned from another thread here:

o serialization (VIN#): ERL updated only on thursday night
o everything else after this: could be updated any day

So when you're C/U calling every day doesn't make any sense, uness you like hearing the same bad news over and over, just wait for thursdays. After this whatever gets your addiction going... I try to limit my ERL shots to twice a week :P

That's what I figured. It's just hard leaving something that you want in the hands of other people to make it happen or rather keep you updated. I guess I have a trust issue. Hopefully, it will be here sometime in September. Can't remember, but is there an answer as to rather the vin # has any signifigance as far as the actual "next in line is concerned"? Sorry can't remember the million other threads I already read about this. :bang:

I believe the short answer is no. For instance I believe the VIN is also function of the specific model (e.g. body type).

Check this out for more details:
